PLVER: Joint Stable Allocation and Content Replication for Edge-Assisted Live Video Delivery

Live streaming services have gained extreme popularity in recent years. Due to the spiky traffic patterns of live videos, utilizing distributed edge servers improve viewers' quality experience (QoE) has become a common practice nowadays. Nevertheless, current client-driven content caching mechanism does not support pre-caching from cloud edge, resulting considerable amount cache misses video delivery. By jointly considering features videos and servers, we propose PLVER, proactive push scheme address miss problem Specifically, PLVER first conducts one-to-multiple stable allocation between clusters user groups balance load over servers. It then adopts replication algorithms speed up among We conduct extensive trace-driven evaluation, covering 0.3 million Twitch viewers more than 300 channels. The results demonstrate that with can carry 28 82 percent auction-based (ABR) method on requested time (CORT) method, respectively.
